And he's off!
D started his "official" year of kindergarten today! He is repeating it this year to get a lot stronger in reading readiness. He was bouncing off the WALLS at home, due to excitement, plus a good dose of anxiety in there, even though he knows the teachers, the school, etc. It's overwhelming for a little guy. Mommy was a bundle of nerves...lol His classroom last year was the only class in the kinder wing with a door. The others are open classrooms...so...yikes! D is prone to try to escape if he gets frustrated with what he's doing, so thank goodness he has an aide a LOT during the day! Here's to a great start to a new year!

Teacher Survival Kit
It's the start of another school year, and at our house, there is lots of excitement! I started a tradition last year of making a Teacher Survival Kit for D's new teacher, and we had a lot of fun picking out items. Here's what we ended up with! It's very similar to last years, but D is repeating kindergarten so since the teachers are next door to each other, I wanted to keep it close. Pics to come tomorrow of D's big day!
The snowflake to the left of the box folds out and says "When all else fails, pray for a snow day!"

Another tooth...gone!
So D has had a VERY loose tooth for awhile now. He's worked so hard to get it out, and mommy even took a few tries at it, but just couldn't work up the guts to yank it. Well, this morning, D woke me up to yell that "it came out, mommy!!! I got it out myself!" Apparently, he'd REALLY been working on it all morning. So YAY!
So proud!
After the tooth excitement, we went to a luncheon at church, for single parents and back to school. D got his school supplies!
They even had face painting there!
And after the luncheon, we celebrated the missing tooth with some yogurtville yumminess!

D gone fishin
We hit up Harry Myers Park with some friends who brought their fishing poles. D had actually never been fishing before so this was a new experience for him! He LOVED it!

Taste of Dallas
Today was looking like rain, and it did rain quite a bit in the morning, but we chanced it anyway and took the train down to Taste of Dallas. The boys loved it!
