Today we went to a birthday party for one of D's littlest buddies...we had fun! Here are some pics from that, you can see the rest of the pics at Beth's blog.

The backstory to this picture: Brian had just been busted a few min before it for getting into his mommy's makeup. D was asking him "did you get into Miss Bef's makeup???" Notice the hand on the hip, and Brian looking admonished...hilarious!!

So D started out figuring THIS out...
And finally...he's dangling!! My big boy figured out all by himself how to hook his feet up on the monkey bars and then brace them so he could hang upside down!!! I'm so proud of him although I will admit, my heart was totally in my throat the whole time. I just KNEW he was gonna crack his head open, but he didn't fall even once! WOW!

This weekend we headed to our family's lake house in East Texas. We were fortunate that Saturday was a gorgeous day so we took full advantage of it! Sunday it just rained all day so we headed home shortly after lunch. It was a fun weekend! Here are some pics from our day outside on Saturday...

After playtime, D, my brother, and I headed to the cemetery where my grandad is buried to visit his grave, while my two aunts hid eggs in the yard for an Easter egg hunt for D. I hadn't been to see my grandad in almost a year, and badly wanted to go.
This is the little church that my grandma grew up in, and where the cemetery is. We have family plots out there.
Back to the house and D's ready to find some eggs.
He was quite proud of all his loot!
The BIG egg he found had a new matchbox car in it, he held on to that thing ALL weekend!
After this, we busted out a kite that I brought. It was quite a windy day so it flew nicely!
D had a great time flying it!
So now that the bluebonnets are just gorgeous and thick and allllll over the place in the field we go to, we went back out this evening! Of course, its freakin COLD outside, but somehow we managed to get some decent ones.
